シンセサイザーが多少入ってくるので純然たるオーケストラ物とはいえないものの、劇付随音楽として間然とするところがなく、実に格調高い音楽になっている。凡百のクラシックの管弦楽曲にひけをとらない。後年の「エアフォース・ワン」などと同系統。これは２枚組みを１枚にまとめたもののようで、６０分強をほぼハイテンションで通してくれる。しっかり聴き通すとヤヤ疲れる。少なくとも夜中に本を読みながら流す音楽には明らかに向いていない。やった私がバカでしたネ。逆に本来の２枚組みのほうが、まあ長すぎるかもしれないが、自然な楽しみ方が出来るのかもしれない。マーラーでも聴くように。さて、彼独特のリズムや音色が随所に出て来てニンマリ。これで歴史物？とつい疑問に思ったものの、いやだからこそ出来た作品なんだと思い直した次第。生真面目な方のゴールドスミス。
