ボタンアコーディオンの名手リシャールガリアーノと、
ウッドベースの技巧派ロン･カーターのデュオ作品。

デュオ作品は無数にありますが、名盤にのみ感じられる
「とても２人だけで演奏しているとは思えない」
といった思いがまず浮かんでくる作品です。

リシャール･ガリアーノはフランス出身。
同じジャバラ楽器のバンドネオン奏者で
モダンタンゴの雄アストル･ピアソラに唯一認められた
現在世界最高と言われるアコーディオン奏者。

アコーディオンをして小型のバンドネオンに負けない
スピーディでダイナミックなプレイを見せてくれます。

ロン･カーターはアメリカのミシガン州出身。
マイルス･デイビスグループ(1963~1968)を始め
セッションミュージシャンとしての活動、
音楽教育の現場での活躍が目覚ましい人物です。

ジャズ界屈指と歌われる彼のベースプレイは、
インテリジェンス溢れる奏法と超絶技巧で
ガリアーノのプレイを支えます。

一貫したコンセプトで作られたのがひしひしと感じ取られます。
こういう作品は一曲をピックアップするのは愚の骨頂でしょう。
アルバムを通して聴いてみて、感じ取ってみてください。

5.0 out of 5 stars ガリアーノに脱帽。, 2003/9/26
ベースのロン・カーターとリシャール・ガリアーノのデュオによるライヴ・アルバム。アコーディオンがライブでここまでできるのか！？と思わされた一枚。右手と左手のコンビネーションとバランスが奇跡といってもいいくらい。ジャズ・ピアニストの右手と左手のような奏法。アコーディオンの左手は、ブンチャッチャ・ブンチャッチャというような感じで単純なコードを鳴らすくらいしか出来ないと思っていたけど、こんな風に弾く事が可能だったと知らしめ
られた。

ガリアーノはスタジオ録音もいいが、やはりライブ盤にこそその真髄があると思う。
