イギリスのパブ・ロックを代表するバンド、ブリンズリー・シュウォーツの1972年にリリースされたサードにして最高傑作。ブリンズリー・シュウォーツはリーダーの名前をそのままバンド名にしてるんだけどブリンズリーの中心人物はやはりニック・ロウでしょう。彼の類稀なソング・ライティングはこの当時から遺憾なく発揮されている。それにこのアルバムからイアン・ゴムが参加してまさに鉄壁の布陣。ニック・ロウものびのびとしています。デビューの頃から一貫してアメリカのフォーク・ロック的なアプローチをしてきたけど、ここではそれが最高の形で現れたと思う。アメリカのルーツ音楽に傾倒しながらもイギリスの洗練された感じを上手くミクスチャーしててメチャかっこいいです。

７２年発表の３ｒｄ。英国カントリー・ロックのアルパムとしては重要、かつ楽しめる作品。リラックスした雰囲気を持ったこのアルバムは昼下がりに聴くにはもってこいだろう。カントリー路線とは言ってもビートルズの４ｔｈアルバムに似た雰囲気も持っている。ニック・ロウの曲はビートルズの影響は感じるものの、露骨にそれが出ているものは少ないのだけど、このアルバムでは結構その辺りが垣間見れて微笑ましい。ロウが６曲、イアン・ゴムが４曲、ジム・フォードの曲が２曲といった内容で、どちらのファンも納得か？４．はロウ作のカントリー・ワルツだが、近年のアコースティック路線の作風に非常に近い雰囲気を持っている佳曲。ギターの間奏が何となくビートルズの「If I Fell」を思わせる６．もカントリー路線の良い曲だ。７．ではモロに「Words Of Love」のフレーズが出て来て、「ああビートルズなんだな」と納得してしまう。グループの方向性がはっきりと分かる好盤である。
