アメリカ東海岸を中心に活躍している、バカテク変態ギタリスト、Derek Taylorが中心になって結成された「Crimeny」というユニットによる唯一の作品です。1994年にテクニカルギタリストの殿堂シュラプネルレコードからリリースされています。メンバーはこれまたマニア筋で有名なScott Stine（ベース）とRob Stankiewicz（ドラム）という構成。デレク・テイラーはギターのほかにボーカルもとっています。

前衛的超絶＆変態HRという趣のこのアルバムは、まさにデレク・テイラーの独壇場という感じで、始めから最後までノンストップで疾走しながら、曲調はあくまでも陰鬱でダークです。気が滅入るほどの暗黒の世界が目前に広がり、そこにこれでもか！という感じで畳みかけるデレク・テイラーの超絶＆変態ギター。恐らくこのような音楽に馴染みのない人にとっては「もう、勘弁してよ」と逃げ出したくなること受けあいです（笑）。そして、最後のトドメは悪趣味にもほどがあるジャケットデザイン。アマゾンさんで買うなら問題ありませんが、CDショップではレジのお姉さんが露骨に顔をしかめるのではないでしょうか。まさに劇薬たっぷりのこの作品は、身体が弱っている人、良識を重んじる人にとっては、大変危険な存在です。

4.0 out of 5 stars 異色ヘヴィーロックバンド, 2009/7/9
確かに雰囲気は暗い、重い。しかしKING'S Xあたりのメロディが好きな人ならば意外と大丈夫かもしれない。ギターの音は厚く重いのだが、その反面ドラムが軽快だったりするので、不思議な感覚がします。
ギター＆ベースの高速スウィープユニゾンフレーズなんかも時折飛び出すが、あくまでリフ・曲重視の音楽です。キワモノ好きの人はコレクションに加えておいて損はないと思います。
