4.0 out of 5 stars Zootの参加が目玉だがそれだけじゃない, 2004/10/8
Jon Eardley といえばZoot Sims のデュクレテトムソン盤が即座に思い浮かぶが、本作はタイトルどおりセプテット編成で、Zoot Simsも参加している。
録音も５６年１月末ということで同時期の作品である。

Jon Eardleyは中音域を美しく奏でるタイプで、MulliganがＣｈｅｔの後釜にしたのも頷ずける。

セプテットならではの分厚いアンサンブルが楽しい　４．
各メンバーの比較的長いソロが聞ける　５．あたりがお薦めか。

「Zootがいなければ、ただのゴミ盤」の評価もあるらしいが
Jon Eardley、Phill Woodsも実に素晴らしい演奏を聞かせてくれる。
