１０代の頃衝撃を受け毎日聴いていたアルバムです。
ロンドンを拠点とするクラブDJ、Jazzie.BとNellee Hopperによるプロデュースで
レゲエ、ソウルミュージックのリズムがミックスされて出来た
独特の「グラウンド・ビート」のかっこよさにかなり衝撃を受けました。
Caron Wheelerによるボーカルも印象的でした。
当時よく聴いたのはKeep on Movin'ですがシングルカットされたFairPlay、
Feeling Freeなども印象的。彼らの代表作となったアルバムです。
今聴くと青春時代が蘇ってくるようでとても懐かしいですが古さは感じず
新鮮でやはり価値のあるアルバムだと思います。

ダンサンブルだけどどこかクールなグラウンド・ビート・ユニット、
SOUL II　SOULのデビュー作です。
大ヒットしたタイトル・ナンバーを初めとして、名曲が揃ってます。
最高です。
２０代後半~３０代前半の方なら、とても懐かしい気分になること間違い無しです。
今の若い人たちにも聴いて貰って、感想が聞きたいですね。

懐かしく思い買ってしまった一枚。

今聴いても新鮮さがあり、アルバムの完成度が高い。
ハウス、レゲエ、ヒップホップ、ファンク、ソウルなどが融合
したような不思議なリズムでグランド・ビートと呼ばれた。

全曲リズムが安定していて聴いていて何故かとても気持ちよく
落ち着いた気分になる。
これといった強烈な印象はないが、たんたんと流れる綺麗なリズムの
中に力強さがあり、クールで大人な感じに仕上がっている。

African dance　もそうだが　Back to life など遠い異国の地
を感じ、古さは感じない質の高いアルバムです。
