　チュブラーベルズは彼のライフワークとなっており、
２、３、ミレニアムベル、またリメイクした２００３とあります。
エクソシストのサウンドとして有名になりましたが、
意図するところとしては彼いわく大自然の雄大さ、すばらしさを表現した作品とのこと。
マイク・オールドフィールドがフルート、ドラム以外の楽器を演奏し、
ケルト、フォーク、フラメンコ、ケチャなどといった様々な民俗音楽を
取り入れた壮大な作品です。雄大な気持ちに浸れる作品だと思います。
　余談ですが、エクソシストでは本人の了解なしに勝手に映画で使用されたので
裁判沙汰になりました(その後和解)。

　あの有名な「エクソシスト」のテーマ曲です。

　この曲が発表された際、マイクはかなり無名で、
映画関係者は無断でテーマ曲にしたそうです。
それにマイクはかなり怒ったらしい。
「この曲は静かな自然？をイメージしてたのに」ってことらしいです。

　でもこの曲でマイクが有名になったのも事実。
実際、聴くと、なるほどエクソシストのイメージとは違うなぁ
と、思いました。

　これかけて　寝転んでるといつのまにか寝ちゃってたりします。

　やっぱり驚くのは全部自分で演奏してるってこと。
すごすぎです。

　ヴァージンレコード第一作として非常に有名なアルバム。しかし、良くもこんなオタクなアルバムを選んだものです。マイク・オールドフィールドが一人でスタジオにこもって多重録音して作った超オタクアルバムです。

　このアルバムの不思議なグルーヴ感、美しいギターの旋律等を是非聞いていただきたいと思います。メロディーラインなども以外と聞き易いので、何度でも楽しめます。僕はお勉強のバックミュージックに良く使っていました。聞けば聞くほど愛すべきアルバムになっていくでしょう。リマスターで音もかなり良くなっているので末永く楽しめますよ。
