　特に、ニューウェーブ系にかなり慣れた人にオススメ。

　このアルバムを気に入った人は、絶対にニューウェーブを愛すると云っていいと思う。
　それだけ、このアルバムは、クセがある、よく言えば個性的である。

　そういう方には、まず、ロキシー・ミュージック『アヴァロン』もしくは、デビッドボウイ『ジギー・スター・ダスト』を是非、

聴いて欲しい。


本当は、ニューウェーブ入門として欲しいけど、それには、チョット、刺激過ぎるかも。

　彼女の作品で私が所有しているのはシャドウズ＆ライトのＤＶＤと本作品です。シャドウズ＆ライトではジャコ・パストリアスのベースプレイに驚嘆しパット・メセニーのギタープレイに感動し肝心のジョニの印象は初めて見た時はあまり印象に残ってなく、サポート陣の面々から私の中で彼女はジャズシンガーのイメージがありました。
　しかし本作収録の「GOOD FRIENDS」をテレビで聴いた時、ジャズとは程遠いナンバーで不思議な感覚に陥りました。彼女独特のいつも通りの節回しで始まりますが、ビートは思いっきりロック！しかしポップスとも言いがたく、アンサンブルがとても渋い！この不思議な世界に引きこまれ一気にこのナンバーが気に入ってしまい本作品を手にしました。全体的な印象はくセのあるナンバーが多く、人によって好き嫌いがあると思いますが、当時のトレンドサウンドを積極的に取り入れていて私は興味深く聴けました。
　本作品で私は彼女についてひとつの枠に収まらないミュージシャンで独特の音世界と感覚を持つサウンドクリエーターであると認識することとなった次第です。

この人のようなアーチスト＝詩人＝は今アメリカでは非常に活動するのが厳しい状態である。絶滅寸前であるといってもよい。音楽業界のありかたを痛烈に批判していたジョニー。このアルバムはトーマスドルビー、マイクシップリーをプロデューサーに迎えた作品、ジャズフュージョンからの助っ人も多数参加。ジョニーにはめずらしく『シンセサイザーヘビーなアルバム』。トーマスドルビーはプロデューサーとして優れていると思うが、今回は相性が悪かったようだ。彼女のミステリアスな世界がシンセサイザーで殺されているような印象。歌詞内容は相変わらず辛らつだ。ユーザーは＝口当たりのよいポップスを求めているので、そのへんのギャップにいらだっているジョニーの顔が見える。

１０点中５点　プロデュ!ーサー選択は本当に難しい。
