　アメリカのパワーメタルバンドで、……などという細かな説明などもはや不要。音だけでなく、見た目にもメタルを追求しようと肉体を鍛え上げるその姿勢は、これこそ誰も文句をつけられない究極のへヴィーメタル。その拳は突き上げるためにあり、そして偽りのメタル勢力に振り下ろすためのものである。
音が歪んでいれば、そして音数が多くさえあればそれはメタルなのか。いや違う。吠え、叫べばメタルなのか。いやそれも違う。
答えはここにあり。Manowar、これがメタルなのだ。CDを開封する前からなぜか男、いや「漢」のにおいがし、いざステレオにブチ込めば筋肉の音がする。これが、正しいメタルだ。
　Manowarの素晴らしさは、どの作品を手にしても現在の流行の音になど左右されない、徹頭徹尾「正しい」メタルを聴かせてくれるところだろう。スラッシュメタルも聴くし、デスメタルも好きな僕だが、ルーツはしっかりここにあり。
　すべてのメタラーよ、メタラーを名乗る上ではそりゃあ、JudasやMaiden、ほかにも聴くべき音はたくさんあるが……お前たちはManowarを聴いたか？筋肉の音を聴いたか？まだなら、だまってこれを買え。

　ラウダー・ザン・ヘルは、ＭＡＮＯＷＡＲを現在の地位にまで引き上げた、珠玉の１枚です。現在でのスタジオでの収録アルバムはコレが最新です（今年、ようやく６年ぶりのアルバムが発売されるようです）。

　このアルバムは、前作「キングス・オブ・メタル」ほどアクが無い代わりに、純粋なヘヴィ・メタルが詰め込まれた傑作アルバムです。何といっても音の破壊力！ライブ演奏の騒音のやかましさで、何とギネスブックに掲載されているから驚きです。

　「神はヘヴィ・メタルを創りたもうた」仰々しいといえばそれまでですが、彼らの音楽は寄り道なし、純粋培養の正真正銘のヘヴィ・メタル！パッケージの男臭さで女性は買い辛かったＭＡＮＯＷＡＲのアルバムですが、Ａｍａｚｏｎなら問題なし（笑）！い!!ますぐ購入ボタンをクリックＤＡ！

存在自体が崇拝の対象である漢メタルの最高峰が放った傑作。今作も超ハイレベルなパワーメタルながら、アンセムとしての普遍性も持ち合わせており、信者も溜飲を下げた。カール・ローガンも高い技術を披露し、新たな個性を放射する要因となった。
