The reviews for the movie are in the "B" range, which ain't bad for a Demi Moore flick in recent years. The soundtrack's melange of oldies (Three Dog Night, Bad Company) and oddities (the Exene Cervenka-fronted "Auntie Christ," produced by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong) deserves about the same grade. The saving grace here is two dazzling new songs by The Pretenders. Trevor Horn produced with trademark finesse, Chrissie Hynde is in heart-melting form, and her string-fueled cover of Steve Earle's "Goodbye" deserved to be her biggest hit since "Don't Get Me Wrong" a decade back (but wasn't).
