   絶望的な状況の中で制作された前作『Innuendo』が、1977年の『News Of The World』以来もっとも完成度の高いアルバムであり、クイーンの歴史を有終の美で飾ったとすれば、本作は蛇足という気がしないでもない。しかし、フレディ・マーキュリーが1991年11月に亡くなった後、バンドの手元には大量のデモ音源が残っていたという。その中には、マーキュリーのヴォーカル・トラックも混じっていた。

   クイーンは、これらのトラックを完成させ、ファンに届けようと決心したのである。総決算をいま一度試みたというわけだろうか？ それとも、悲しみを克服するにはそうするしかなかったのだろうか？ 憶測は尽きない。だが、「フレディ・マーキュリーの魂に捧ぐ」とうたった本作が期待はずれに終わったことは確かだ。古いトラック（マーキュリーの1985年のソロ・アルバムから引っ張りだしてきた「I Was Born To Love You」や、メイの『Back To The Light』からの大味な「Too Much Love Will Kill You」）と新しいトラックを織り交ぜた内容だが、無理に寄せ集めたという感じはぬぐえない。あくまでもこだわり型のコレクター向けだろう。（Andrew McGuire, Amazon.co.uk）

　遺作となったイニュエンドゥから数年を経て発表されたこのアルバムは、前作のような、４人のエネルギーが高次元でスパークしている研ぎ澄まされた世界とはちがって、落ち着いてゆったりと聞ける作品集。クリアでのびやかなフレディの歌声に酔いながらいつの間にかラストまで聴けてしまう。発売当初は、何でこんな落ち着いた感じの作品にしてしまったのか？などとがっかりしたものですが、残されたメンバーがフレディの死に引きずられず、かつ心を込めて作ったものであることが聴けば聴くほど味わい深く感じられます。とくにメイド・イン・ヘヴンはベストに入ってもいいほどの出来だと思います。反面、ボーン・トゥ・ラヴ・ユーのアレンジには疑問を感じますが。クイーンらしいとはいえない面を感じる部分も作品中にはありますが、個々のメンバーの個性が高次元で融合して、こういう作品を世に出すグループは、やっぱりクイーンをおいて他にはないと思います。買って損はしないでしょう。

ファンならずとも必携の一枚（ラストアルバム）です。とにかく歌詞を読むことをお勧めします。
冒頭、ホンダのCMでもかかった｢誰も止められないんだ〜」と生に対する叫びを歌います。一番のお勧めは「Ｌｅｔ　Ｍｅ　Ｌｉｖｅ」。ここで言う「ＹＯＵ」はgod or devil? 彼の生きたい心境が切々と歌われています。もう一つお勧めはブライアンが切々と歌う（８）の「Too Much Love 〜」です。ここで言う「you」はまさしくフレディのことです、、、そして警鐘しています。（７）ではロジャーが天国に行った彼について歌い、最後の曲の（１０）「Ｗinter's〜」ではフレディが天国にまさに行った状況を歌っているではないですか。。。OH~「Am I Dreaming?〜」、、もう涙なくして聞けない歌です。
そして（１）の力強いリプライズ。終わったと思いきやそのあとにくる、静かに延々と続く22分の「Untitled Hidden Track」。この意味は？、、、実はなんとエンドレスで最初にもどる？戻ってしまう、深い意味のある秀逸アルバムなのです。・・・Are you running?・・　おすすめです。ジャケットもＧＯＯ！ぜひお手元に.

このアルバムが発売された当初は「死人で稼ぐとは不謹慎な金の亡者共め！」
と思い、手を出さなかったのですが、1曲ラジオで偶然聞く機会があり、
残ったメンバーの丹念な手作業的なアレンジにフレディへの愛を感じ、
発売した事に現在は感謝してます。
