緑色のｼﾞｬｹｯﾄ、海の上に浮かぶ月と海岸に佇む人影。
哀愁の曲想に絡む透明感のあるVOCALと狂おしいｷﾞﾀｰ。
「MOONLIGHT SHADOW」は一度耳にしたら忘れられない1曲である。
12ｲﾝﾁｼﾝｸﾞﾙ隆盛の時代、この名曲の12ｲﾝﾁｼﾝｸﾞﾙも当時
ちゃんとありまして、因みに小生は持ってます（自慢）。

このｱﾙﾊﾞﾑと次作「DISCOVERY」は永年の愛聴盤なのですが、
それにしても「ﾁｭｰﾌﾞﾗｰﾍﾞﾙｽﾞ」以外は注目されないですねえ。
騙されたと思って一度聴いて欲しいものです。

5.0 out of 5 stars 『Tubular Bells』に匹敵する傑作。　吉本ばななもインスパイアされた。, 2002/5/11
吉本ばななのデビュー作『キッチン』に収められた『ムーンライト・シャドウ』という短編の題材となった曲、その名も「Moonlight Shadow」が収録されていることで、後々ちょっとした話題になった1983年の作品。
もともとが奇跡的な完成度を誇る傑作で、『Tubular Bells』よりも先に聴いて欲しいアルバムだ。

20分を超える大作1「Crises」は、透明感のある美しいメロディとドラマティックな構成力が見事な傑作。
2「Moonlight Shadow」は、天国に逝った恋人が月夜に逢いに来るという切ない歌で、4「Foreign Affair」と共にシングル・ヒットした。
3「In High Places」はYesのJon Andersonとの共作で、神秘的で浮遊感のある楽曲。

プレイヤー兼プロデューサーとして、売れっ子セッション・ドラマーのSimon Phillipsが参加し、驚くほどクリアな音質と奥行きのあるサウンドに仕上がっている点も見逃せない。
そのSimon Phillipsのダイナミックなドラム・プレイは、インスト曲の5「Taurus 3」でも堪能できる。

今でも一番良く聞いています。大学生だった発売当時友人の薦めでＬＰレコードを購入しました。どの曲もはずれがないのですが、マギー・ライリーの歌う２曲目、４曲目、ジョン・アンダーソンの歌う３曲目がお気に入りです。
