2期/全7枚が発売されているTelevision's Greatest Hits。年代順のアンソロジーで、第1期がVol.1-3、第2期がvol4-7です。一見ゴチャマゼに見えますが、Morning Cartoon、Sit-Coms、Prime Time Drama、Action Adventureという4ジャンルに分けて65曲を収録。できる限り番組で使われたオリジナル音源を使用、一部はオリジナルスコアでの再現バージョンを使っています。放送年や出演者を紹介したブックレット付き。[ここまではシリーズ7枚共通コメントです]

テレビにリモコンが標準装備される時代に放送された、1970年代後半~1980年代の番組テーマ集です。この頃になると日本で放送される番組も刑事・アクション・SF系に限定されてくるので、知っている曲もCD後半に固まってきます。「超人ハルク」「エアウルフ」「刑事ハンター」「探偵ハード＆マック」「冒険野郎マクガイバー」など、日本では深夜番組として放送されたものも多数。こちらブルームーン探偵社も入ってます。

なつかしのアメリカ・テレビ番組のオープニング・サウンドが「あの時のまま」よみがえる。全65曲はすべて当時上映していたときの音源のままで、聴いている側も番組のきらびやかな登場人物、わくわくするストーリー、また、当時のファッションを思い出すこととなろう。個人的には「トラック野郎BJ」(B.J. And the Bear)、「私立探偵ダン・タナー」(Vega$)、「白バイ野郎ジョン＆パンチ」(Chips)、さらには「ナイト・ライダー」(Knight Rider)などが印象的だ。全65曲については各65番組に関し、英語版の詳細な解説も付いており、音楽ばかりでなく放映期間やスターの名前も思い出すことができる。

ごめんなさい、購入じゃなくって視聴で聞いたところですが、
白バイ野郎ジョン＆パンチのテーマ曲が◎だと思います。
別な方がレビューに
「ノリのいい曲の方じゃなくてジャズ調でがっかり」
と書かれていますが、自分の記憶だと、このアルバム収録の
「ジャズ調」は番組初期のテーマ曲で自分好みです。
「ノリのいい曲の方」は番組後期のテーマ曲でＥＰ盤が発売
されていました。自分はそのＥＰ盤をネット
オークションで手に入れて、「ジャズ調」が聞きたいと思っ
てるところです。
