最初はさりげなく、しかし聴き続けるたびにじわじわとリスナーの心を惹きつけ、やがては虜にしてしまう。そんなスルメな感じの一枚です。ビッグバンドを基調にした演奏ですが、エインズリー･ダンパーのドラミングは素敵だし、ジョージ・デュークもいつものように弾きまくっております（特に４曲目が最高にクール）。で、全編ほぼインストなのに、ここまでストーリー性を持たせられるって事も驚異的。
初心者の方にもおすすめだと思います。
間違いなく傑作ですから。

私がすきなザッパのアルバムの一枚。ビッグバンドの演奏のなかで進みます。
ワカジャワカのようなあっさりした（爽快なという感じ）ではなくて、堂々としたスケールの大きい演奏です。私はファーストナンバーを聞いていて、なぜか、R・ブラックモアを思い出してしまいます。なぜでしょうね。ともかくゴージャスな感じで聞き終われること請け合いです。

5.0 out of 5 stars 素晴らしきビックバンド・ジャズロック。, 2008/2/14
ZAPPA初心者のボクが2枚目に購入したアルバムになります。
ライブ中の事件により車いすでの生活を送りながらwaka/jawakaと同年に録音されたそうですが
waka/jawakaをさらに推し進めたかのような内容に思わず「なるほど。」と納得してしまいます。

ZAPPAにジャンル分けなど無意味だと思いますが内容説明のために形容するなら
ビックバンド・ジャズロック（そんな言葉あるんでしょうか？ｗ）という感じです。
JAZZ的なアプローチがとても強い作品。参加ミュージシャンの数が増えてより濃厚になった印象です。

決して飽きることなく長く付き合っていけるとても素晴らしい作品だと思います。
