　とにかく強烈。ヨーコさんのスクリームも勿論ですがゲスト参加したオーネット･コールマン初め、ジョンのギターといいとにかくパンクな音色に満ちています。はっきりいってこれを聴いた後ではセックス･ピストルズ等のパンクがお子ちゃまに思えるぐらいです。音響的な視聴覚効果も抜群のものがあります。正に隠れた（知名度から考えれば何ともおかしな表現ですが）名作といえます。パンク･ニューウェーヴ勢に10年先駆けていたといっても過言ではないでしょう。

ヨーコの処女作ですな。
これはディープだわ。心して聞いてください。決してデートのときなどにかけないように。普通の女の子なら逃げ出しますぞ。これはBGMなどには決してなりえない作品ですわ。
ジョンのギター、クラウスフォアマンのベース、リンゴのドラムは完璧な演奏をしてますな。特にジョンのギターは、彼のエキセントリックな面がモロ出しにされていて、聞きごたえ十分。レノンフリークなら今すぐに聞くべし。
このアルバムとレノンの「ジョンの魂」が彼らにとっての実質的な処女作だったことを思うと、ジョンとヨーコに対して僕はなんとなく手を合わせたくなるのである。

「ジョンの魂」に比べて格段に知名度が劣る本作だが、
対をなすジャケット同様、その密度に関してはまさに対等。

あの真摯なアルバムの陰にはいかに狂気が渦巻いていたのかを想像
させて余りあるアヴァンギャルドな仕様。メンバーが同じだけあって
音の手触りは確かに共通するが、ジョンのスライドギターがこれでもかと
暴走する様には言い知れぬ昂揚とともに戦慄すら覚える。
ひたすらグルーヴィなフォアマンのベースも快感をもたらす。

主役のボーカルには言及しないが、バックの濃さだけで聴く価値は十二分。
加えて一曲ではオーネット・コールマンのグループが参加。こちらは過度な期待をしなければ楽しめる、といったところ。
むしろこれ以外のトラックの方がフリージャズファンには訴えるかも。
