　自分はマシューの作品は“100% Fun”の次にこれを買ったので、そのギャップにまず驚いた。音がやたらとヘヴィで全体をとおして暗く陰鬱なのである。確かにその時は“100% ~”のような清涼感を求めてたから「これがマシューか？」と耳を疑ったのですが、聴き込んでいくうちに「これもマシューなんだな」と思うようになりました。

　メンバーとしてロバート、リチャード、リック・メンクといったところは前作に続き参加していて、それに加えてニッキー・ポプキンス、ミック・フリートウッド、それにピート・トーマスといったビッグアーティストがそこに名を連ねています。とりわけフリートウッド・マックのファンでもあるマシューはミックと共演できたことが何よりうれしかったそうです。

　私のフェイヴァリットは歌詞も切ないM7なのですが、音がデカく激しいM1のようなノリも好きですね。ちなみに「タイム・カプセル」はシングル収録のデモバージョンのほうが気に入ってます。当時は同年に出たTFCの“Thirteen”同様に日本の評論家の間ではすごくウケがよかったみたいです。

　とにかく「静」と「動」のメリハリが効いたいい作品であることは間違いなし！です。

一曲目のクワインのギターを聴けただけでいいじゃないか！と言いたくなる程、ぞくぞくするリード。
もちろん、マシュー・スィートの確かなメロディーは健在で全編通して楽しめますが、どの曲でも私はクワインのギターを追っかけてしまいます。今回はごめんなさい、マシュー様。
