1987年1月マスター・サウンド・アストリア・レコーディング・スタジオ、ニューヨークで録音。

1979年に立ち上がった『スペシャル・エディション』としてのアルバム。最初のECMから出た、『スペシャル・エディション』はホントに素晴らしかったが本作は散漫な印象しか受けない。原因はやっぱりデビット・バレーとアーサー・ブライスというヘビー級のサックスを聴いた後で、グレッグ・オズビー(アルトとソプラノ)とゲイリー・トーマス(テナー・サックスとフルート)では余りに弱いのだ。

こんな『スペシャル・エディション』は僕はイヤだ。
