5.0 out of 5 stars 地方の中小建設業者の気持ちがわかる本！, 2006/3/1
　第1章は、編者の米田氏の地方の建設業への思いが総括されている。
入札制度の現状や公共事業悪玉論に対する正確な主張は明確であり、通り一遍の新聞記事しか読んでいない人たちには必須だろう。
　第2章は、各地方の建設業のルポであり、本書の半分以上のスペースを占めている。
残念ながら、建設業は、災害復旧へのボランティア参加など大いに社会貢献していますよ、と繰り返し紹介される記述に、逆に居た堪れなくなる。
もちろん災害復旧への参加は大切であるが、本来、ビジネスとしての仕事で、自己革新して、生き残ることが、今の建設業者に求められているのではないか。
本筋を外して、社会貢献してますから評価してくださいと言っているように感じられる。
　しかし、そのような後味の悪さは、第3章で払拭される。
そこでは、未来へ向けての新たな挑戦の様子が様々紹介されており、本書を読んで良かったと思わせてくれる。
なお、本書には、多くの専門家や建設関係者のコメントが所収されており、様々な視点が提供され、視野を広げてくれる。
　トータルな感想として、読み終えて、建設業の姿が等身大で見えてきた気になる。
崖っぷちの中小建設業の本当の苦悩を、私ごときが、どの程度理解できているかは判らないが・・・。
　いずれにしても、本書は、現在の建設業の実態を知るための必読文献の一つであることに間違いはあるまい。
