この本を読んで、私達人間が動物達に対して行っている「動物虐待・動物実験」の実態をを知り、とてもショックを受けました。知らないから、知らなかったからではなく、このような現実から目を反らさず、一人でも多くの人にこの本を読んでもらい、一つでも多くの動物の命を救ってほしい…。そう切実に思います。どうか動物達の小さな叫び声に耳を傾けてください。

犬猫に限らず、エキゾチックアニマルなど動物全般のことが幅広く取材されており、今までにない視点の良質な動物保護本である。
今は動物感動実話や、かわいい写真集が売れているが、この本のような動物保護の現状を目をそむけず見ていくことが、動物好きの私たちに必要なことだと強く感じた。全ての動物を愛する人に勧めたい。

私たちの知らないところで、動物たちがとても身近に虐待されているということを知り、たいへんショックを受けました。ペットとして生まれてきた動物たちは、飼い主の愛情なしには生きられません。この本を読んで、人間の都合ばかりではなく、よりよい共存の形を我が家のペットたちと共に、改めて探っていきたいと思いました。
