非常にリアルでユーモラスに描かれた食べ物の絵が気に入って、私が気に入ったので買いました。
子供も当然ながらお菓子や食べ物に興味を持ち、一日に何度も「読んで」と持ってきたので
読んであげたら、程なくしてひらがなを読めるようになったので驚きました。
この本のお陰だと思っています。

ただ残念だったのは、せっかく濁音（がぎぐげご〜ばびぶべぼ）と半濁音（ぱぴぷぺぽ）から「わをん」まで食べ物を網羅しているのに、
何故か「ぢ」と「づ」だけが無いのです。
最後の目次にも「だ」「で」「ど」としか書いてないため、その辺に違和感を覚えました。

せっかくここまで素晴らしい絵を描かれたのですから、どうせなら
「いちぢく」「づけまぐろ」等でページを作って欲しかったです。
子供には「ここに本当は“ぢ”と“づ”があるんだよ」と説明しながら読んでいます。

3才の息子をはじめ、身の周りの子供達は
ほとんど全員この本の大ファンです。
私は3人に布教（？）しましたが、
姪も更にともだちに布教したようです。

「みっちゃんみちみち‥‥」なんて感じの
あいうえおのおぼえうた絵本なのですが、
挿し絵がほんとーーーにすばらしいっ！
こどもの本にありがちな、描き込みの甘さはみじんもなく、

1ページ1ページはがして飾りたくなるような楽しさです。

食べること、想像することのたのしさを
大人も思わず喚起させられてしまいます。もっと好きなものに変えて歌ってもたのしいです。

特殊学級の担任をしていた時に、子どもたちのお気に入りの本でした。やさしい雰囲気でおいしそうな絵、シンプルな文章、大人でも、次はなんの食べ物だろう？とページをめくってしまいます。卒業する子にプレゼントしすると、とても喜ばれました。
