5.0 out of 5 stars 「人間」がすごくシンプルに描かれている小説, 2002/9/7
「ホテルカクタス」という名前のアパートメントに住む住人たちの話です。

登場人物は人間ではないけれど、人間そのものの特性や人間模様がとても生々しく描写されていた。

何事も常に移り変わってゆくという無情の概念や、人間のもろくて壊れやすい繊細さや強さが、江國 香織さんのシンプルでやわらかい言葉でくっきりと表現されていた。

挿画は佐々木敦子さんの描いた、すごく幻想的で雰囲気のある絵が数枚入っていて、文章はもちろん、絵を見ることも楽しかった本。

ホテルカクタスの玄関の描写の部分では、あまりにも素敵で鳥肌が立った。（仰々しくも豪華絢爛でもない、くたびれているけど微妙な素敵さ）

最近、読んで気持ちがよすぎる物語が多いね。
ホテル・カクタスを読み終わっての感想だ。

生きることの本質を見つめた・・・
そんな大袈裟なことではないと思うけれど
ロマンティックな物語であることは間違いない。

主人公達は、帽子ときゅうりと数字の２。
と、いう渾名の人間とみるか、帽子/きゅうり/２をそのまま受け入れるかは読み手の好みだ。
わたしの場合は＜そのまま＞読みました。

「たんぽぽのお酒」　レイ・ブラッドベリ
ストーリーは似ていないけれど、あれと雰囲気は似ている。
似てない？(笑)
わたしの好きな系列なんですが。

こういった、読後感が気持ちが良すぎる物語は、
ほんのときたま出現して欲しい。
毎年、それも何冊も出版されると、気持ちが良すぎて不感症になりそう。

面白かった！　すっごい素敵。素敵~。絵も良いです。
アパートで暮らす数字の２ときゅうりとぼうしの話。
友達と日常と季節とその時の気配や空気と。遠くなってしまっていたとしても、どこかに必ずある場所の記憶。多分誰もが大事に持っている、そんなやさしくてさらさらとした思い出をたぐるような小説です。
感傷さが駄目な人ももしかしたらいるかもしれませんが、別に甘くも恥ずかしくもなく、ほの悲しい綺麗な感じの感傷さです。お薦め。
秋のひとりだけの静かな夜に、というのが似合う感じなのですよ。
