９６年版の書を持っている方なら必ず欲しくなる一冊。お持ちでない方、こちらのパワーアップ版はさらにお勧めです。犬の歴史から、各犬種の特徴、シルエットによる人間との大きさの比較まで、見ているだけでも充分に楽しめます。また、写真も犬種の特徴を捉えた美しい物が多く種類も豊富になりました。その分、一犬種ごとの説明スペースが小さくなり写真も少々小さ目にはなりましたが…。身近な犬に、こんなにも沢山の種類があったのかと、目から鱗の一冊です。

私は犬が大好きなので見ていて飽きませんね。
かわいいワンちゃんを見ていると心が癒されますよ。
値段は高いですが、犬好きの方は必見の価値がありますよ！

様々な犬の性質や体質など、もちろん短所でさえも、
なんとあたたかで肯定的な文章で綴られていることか、
もう、読んでいて感動してきました。
ブルース・フォーグル博士の品格と愛情が、この大図鑑からは漂ってきます。
何度読んでも飽きない、最良の犬種図鑑だと思っています。
