ロバのアルフは、おじいさんとおばあさんに飼われていますが、同じように飼われている動物達にやきもちを焼いてしまい、色々な行動にでます。最後には自分は必要とされている事に気がつきますが・・・。これは、子供が兄弟に思う心、親に思う心にも捉えられます。アルフのちょっとした成長の本です。とてもユーモラスな本ですが、子供の心理を捕らえていると思います。アルフの絵もとても素晴らしいです。童話館出版の本は、廃本になった素晴らしい本を出版して下さるという素晴らしい本屋さんです。

歯医者さんに置いてあるのを何気なく手に取りました。

ユーモラスな書き方なのですがなんだか涙が出そうになってあわてました。
自分は愛されていない（と思いこんでしまう）姿になんだか・・。
軽い口調が余計に切なかったです。

気持ちが疲れていたときに手に取ったからかな（笑）
とても好きになり、早速購入しました。

犬や猫や鳥に比べ、自分だけおじいさんやおばあさんに
愛されていないと思い込んだアルフがとった行動が、
母屋の屋根の上への「家出」。

息子たちが１年生くらいのときに読みましたが、
すっかりアルフになりきって成り行きにハラハラしたようでした。

おばあさんが、屋根の上のアルフの物音から、悪い魔女だと勘違いしたりと、
ユーモラスな展開もあり・・・、
さいごには、自分は本当に愛されているとわかるアルフ。
結末に息子たちも安心し、
さし絵がまた、アルフのいじらしさ（？）をうまく描いていて、母心をくすぐります。
あまりみかけない地味な本ですが、愛蔵版となりました。
