まず第一に、ADHDを児童期の疾患としてだけではなく、成人期をも含めた疾患と捉えているところが良い。

ADHDの鑑定方法については、いくつもの条件設定を提示した上で、精密な判断を行う。これはADHDに間違われやすい他の疾患が多いからだ。

リタリンについては、それがADHDの唯一の選択肢ではないとし、他の環境設定を含めたオルタナティヴな治療法をいくつも提示している。しかし、治療薬としてのリタリンに対する偏見は見られない。良いことである。

ADHDをめぐる状況については、日本と欧米とではずいぶんとアプローチが異なる。この本が、『リタリンを飲むなら、知っておきたいこと』(花風社)とあわせて、ADHD治療だけでなく、日本のリタリン処方に対する偏見を解く、一つの目安となることを願ってやまない。

リタリンに関しての書籍はほとんどないが、ADHDについて詳しく書いてある。うつ病やナルコレプシーの人にはそれほど役に立たないかもしれないが、良くも悪くも服用中の人
はリタリンについて知っておいたほうが良い。まぁ〜使い方は人それぞれですけどね。
