今思うとロールプレイングゲームの原型とも思われるようなストーリーです。
怠け者のワーニャが預言者に導かれ、剣や馬などを手に入れる様は
わくわくしながら読みました。
プロイスラー氏のストーリーは大変面白いです。
子供の頃読んだ中でベスト３に入る本です。

大好きで何度も繰り返し読んだ本です。イラストも堀内さんの味のあるイラストで大好き！
主人公のワーニャがとっても素直な「良いやつ」で、授かった大力を使って困っている人を助けながら目的地に向かうという冒険談で、畑仕事から怪物退治まで、快く引き受けながら進んでいくストーリ展開が小気味よく、一気に読めてしまいます。

七年の間かまどの上ですごした怠け者のワーニャが大きな力を得て
魔女や怪物たちを倒しながら皇帝になるまでの物語。
のんきで素朴でやさしいワーニャと旅で会う人々や仲間との交流が明るくてほがらか。
でも魔物との闘いはスリルに溢れるギリギリの闘い。
宝物も豊かなエピソードに溢れ、魅惑的です。こどものころから
繰り返して読んでいた大好きな作品です。
