ただの萌え狙いかと思いきやバカにしてはいけない。もちろんイラストも可愛い粒揃いではあるが、猫そのものに関する情報もまた素晴らしい。一匹々(一人々?)の紹介内容のゆたかさ・わかりやすさに加えて、猫を飼ったことがある人でも「ナルホド」と感心させられる飼い方紹介。時に真面目に、時にユーモアたっぷりな大変密度の濃い素晴らしい一冊であると思う。

最近流行している「萌え」系教養本だと思い、「大した事は書いていないだろう」と思い、手にとったところ、さにあらず…猫の種類とそれらの個性は簡潔だが丁寧に書かれ、飼い方に関しての情報やコツについてもしっかりと書かれていて、きちんとした入門書として、あなどれない内容でした。
猫（４２＋１種類。この１種類のオチには、笑えましたし、なんかホロっときましたｗ）の擬人化も、きちんと猫そのものの容貌と特性を表しており、ペットショップやネットで、変な感じで脳内変換してしまいますが、これのおかげで、種類名が簡単に思い出せられるようになりました。
「萌え」「アニメ系の絵」に抵抗がなければ、なかなかどうして、お勧めの本です。
