ネットで話題を席巻した、萌え系(?)防衛本「平成17年度版 まんがで読む！防衛白書」の作者が描く、ちょっと不思議な防衛本第ニ弾！･･･という触れ込みのこの本。

防衛庁協力の下で書かれた前作は、「防衛白書」の要約という体裁・図表に沿って登場キャラクター達が必要な台詞を"喋らされている"感覚があったが、そのような制限を外されて描き下ろされた本作では主人公から脇役にいたるまで、活き活きとして人間味あふれる魅力的なキャラクターが描かれていて、ユニークな世界観に引きこまれる。キャラ絵に頼って読者に媚びるような、安直な"萌え系"などでは決してなく、軽妙なタッチながら確かな読みごたえがある。

作品中でははっきりと作者のスタンスが示されているが、押しつけがましい思想などではなく、むしろ様々な考え方のきっかけになるだろう。国際問題に興味がある人はもちろん、国防や世界情勢について考えたことがない人にこそ、ぜひ読んでもらいたい一冊。

しかし絵が漫研並というのは酷評しすぎかなと･･･流行りの絵柄ではないのかもしれないですが、独特のタッチが架空の世界にマッチしていて、いい味わいを出していると思います。

平成１７年度版の「まんがで読む防衛白書」の著者の作品です。
絵柄はいわゆる萌え系と言われるものですが、その内容は至ってまじめです。
日本の国防を考える上で参考になる事柄も多く考えさせられる物がありました。
値段も比較的安いですし、自衛隊に好意を持たない方も一読されてみてはいかがでしょうか？
その上で議論を重ねていきたいものです。

私は政治学科で政治学を学ぶ者であるが、安全保障に最も関心があり、以前から軍事力や平和に関する議論にも人一倍興味があった。

私はマキアヴェリやニーチェの思想に共鳴する者であるが、戦争＝悪、平和＝善という短絡的思考（停止）には強い反発心と嫌悪感を抱いてきた。その逆もまた誤りであることは言うまでもないが。

この本では、軍国主義国家と（空想的）平和主義国家という二つの極端なモデルが提示されており、戦争による両者の破滅が描写されている。

この本の主張は極めて妥当である。

国際社会において、国際秩序や国益といったものは、軍国主義一辺倒でも維持できないし、逆に平和主義一辺倒でも維持できない。結局は、自助努力と協調のバランスが重要だということであると解釈した。

戦争や平和、憲法改正論議に関心のある諸君には是非とも読んでほしい一冊である。その上で、この本をどう受け止めるかは自由だ。何か得られるものがあるはずである。

テロリストの件には感動させられた。軍事力だけではテロを撲滅させることができないことに改めて認識させられた。

要望・・・絵をもう少し改善してほしい。素人の私が言うのもおこがましいが、はっきり言って高校の漫研並だと思う。
