タグ辞典が欲しかったので思い切って買ってみましたが、予想以上に使い勝手が悪いです。

例えば、メインページの新着記事に「記事のカテゴリ名を表示させてカテゴリアーカイヴへのリンクを作ろう」と思っても、カテゴリ名の表示はたやすく出来るのですが、カテゴリアーカイヴへのリンク方法がどこをひっくり返しても出てこないため、結局エントリーのURLを表示する項目の日付アーカイヴへのリンク方法から類推せざるをえませんでした。
公式タグ辞典というのなら、基本的なタグを例示したあと、ざっとした応用の一覧や組み合わせ可能なタグ固有のアトリビュートの提示があってもいいと思います。

内容は決して詳細ではないのに全く初心者用の便覧ではないな、と感じました。また説明項目そのものが整理されておらず目次構成そのものが体系立ってないと感じました。

Movable Type3.3に対応した新版「Movable Type公式タグリファレンス 第2版」が出ています。いろいろと変わった部分があるそうなので、3.3以降を使おうという方はそちらを買ってください。これからMTを学ぼうと思っている自分も最初の検索でこちらだけ見つかったので、危うくこちらを買ってしまうところでした。

タグ辞典としては、値段が高いです。
本の内容は、かなり読みやすく、分かりやすい構成になっていますが、一般的なタグ辞典にしては情報量がかなり少ないです。

MTを始めた人には、情報量から言っても良本とはいえません。中級以上で脇においておくための本です。

値段が高いので、星が3つです。
