2003年4月1日、この世を去ったスーパースター、張國榮（レスリー・チャン）の軌跡を知る上で、最良の文献です。この時期にこの誠実な作品が出版されたことを、大変嬉しく思います。
非常に正確なドキュメントであり、同時にロマンティックな恋愛小説のようでもあって、「どういう本？」ときかれたら、形容に困るのですが、その形容しがたい感じこそが、―美しい装幀や、隅々まで行き届いた構成なども― とても「レスリー・チャン的」だと思いました。
作家と友人たちの溌剌とした会話は、時におかしく、ときに哀しく、やがて読み手の胸の奥にふんわりと着地するようなものばかり. . . 。 不思議なやすらぎをもたらしてくれました。
For ever。 国境も時代も越えて、ずっと読み継がれてほしい一冊です。

あえて軽く書かれたプロの文体と、ブログやHP上に氾濫する今どきのシロートの文体を混同されてしまっては作者も悲しいでしょう。レスリー・チャンを素材にしているせいで読み誤られやすいのでしょうが、べつのカスタマーによる「現象学的哲学の本」の表現が一番適切なのでは?

つまりは現象学的哲学の本なのだ。一人のスターの存在を手がかりにして、世界の実在性についてさえ軽やかに思いを巡らせていく現代の女たち。天晴れである。下手な男の出る幕などない。
