~　神さまが自分の名前を逆さにつづり、「ＤＯＧ」と名付けた犬。犬はお金では決して買えない幸福な時間を私たちに与えてくれます。お互いのことを尊重し、愛し合えればの話しですが。
どうすればお互いに幸せになれるのでしょう？答えは簡単なことかも知れません。本書ではｗｅｂ上で綿々と語り継がれている、犬と暮らす心構え「犬の十戒」がたくさんの写真~~とともに紹介されています。「忘れないでください。私はあなたを愛していますー」と、静かな語り口が心の奥底まで真っすぐにしみ込んでくる十戒です。
　また、後半は保護された犬とその後の幸せなワンショットで構成。優しい雰囲気の中で「犬との生活」を再考させられます。しかし重い空気はなく、プレゼントにもいいのではないでしょうか。
　今、犬を飼~~っている人、これから犬を飼おうと思う人、犬に関わる生活を送るすべての人に、一度は目を通して欲しい一冊です。~

WEB上で密かに人気の『犬の十戒』。それが本になりました。これをはじめて見たときは、泣きました。今まで自分が犬にやってきたことを後悔しました。そして、これからは大切に育てようと思いました。犬の想いがわかる一冊です。これから飼う予定の人は絶対に見てください！　そして、既に飼い主にも見てもらいたい。そう貴方に。

サイトで有名になった『犬の十戒』の英訳本です。
内容は犬から飼い主への『十個のお願い』で、4冊を読み比べてみました。
言葉のセンスに多少の違いはありますが、基本的に内容は同じ、
ただ他の3冊は犬の語り口調が『私が・・・』と英訳されていますが、この本では『僕が・・・』と♂犬の言葉で書かれています。
愛犬が雄犬の方は、こちらが良いのではないでしょうか?
また内容についてですが、10個のお願いは、ごく当たり前のことです。
犬の老後を看取った経験がある自分には当たり前すぎる『お願い』なので、これを読んで『泣けた』という意見が多いのが驚きです。犬を初めて飼っているという方は是非一度読まれてみて下さい。
そして愛犬と約束して下さい。
犬にとっては飼われている家が全てなんです。
飼い主だけが頼りなんですから。
当たり前のことなのに改めて言われないと考えてもみないこと・・・なのかも知れません。
犬達の為にも、皆さんに読んでもらいたい。
この十個のお願いを守るべく自覚を持って欲しいです。
言葉を話せない犬達の為に・・・。
