今まで、BTLSの本やJATECの外傷初期診療ガイドラインを読んでも冗長すぎて今ひとつ実際の流れがよく分からなかった。この本にはBTLS、ATLS、ACLSが実に簡潔にわかりやすくまとまっておりはじめてよく理解できた。　整形の各論も整形外科医でさえ目からうろこのことが豊富に書かれており筆者の豊富な読書量、知識に感嘆した。
老人姿勢の謎解きも興奮した。
くだけた読みやすい書き方でありながらこの本はおそらく整形外科を含む救急臨床の日本のスタンダードになっていくのではないか。

　本書の最大の魅力は、このコンパクトさで、解剖から、診察のポイント、疾患メカニズム、治療について、簡潔にかつ分かりやすく解説してあるところです。またエビデンスも豊富に盛り込んであり、巻末の参考図書からも筆者の整形外科に限らない、幅広い医学知識を感じさせます。
　プライマリケア医にとって明日からの整形外科疾患を診療するのが楽しみになること請け合いです。座右に加えておきたい一冊。

はじめにトリアージを取り上げている著者のセンスに脱帽した。高齢者の姿勢のなぞを解くに至っては感心するばかりである。Appendixもとてもためになる。医師（整形外科以外？の全医師）、医学生いずれにも薦められる本である。
