~この本は米国出張のときに同室だった友人から勧められて購入した本です．
タイトルが仰々しいので駄目本かな、と思われたのですがどうしてなかなか、興味深い内容でした．
著者の精神科医が発見した、選択理論は、「７つの習慣」でいうところの「主体性をもつ」という行為を具現化したものです．
特に外的コントロールを手離す、というところは重要です．~~我々は配偶者や子どもをついつい外的コントロールしようとしてしまいます．それは後天的な学習によるものですが、決して能率の良いものではないのです．
力を自分の体力、大きな声、などに頼ってしまうと結局のところ、自分のパワーを失うことになります．
永続的に続くような真のパワーは尊敬からくるものです．

疾病ですら知らず知らずのうちに自分自~~身で選択している、ということに多くの人が気がつけばずいぶんと医療はかわってくるでしょう．~

子供の頃、母親が鬱病で精神病院に行って薬を飲んでいた頃が一時期あった。

何の薬かは、分からないが効き目があったようには思えなかった。

という、まさに、その事が書いてあった。
