解答にたどり着くまでの過程を重視した、理科大らしい本である。

読んでみると少し難しい気もするが、解説をじっくり読み、よく考えると「なるほど」と思わずうなずいてしまう内容である。

また、出題テーマが分野ごとに区分されているので、興味のあるところ、わかるところから取り組めるのもよい。

科学的な知識はもちろんだが、論理的に考える力も身につく本だ。

　『理数系の本』と言われると、どうしても硬くて、融通の利かない、何か特質したものと捉えがちだが、この本はそれを払拭した大変魅力あるものになっている。

　なるほど、身近な事柄をメインにした問題に比べて、解説編はやや難解な印象を与えるのは否めないが、それでも、地球上に存在するあらゆる事象は、理数系発想によって解読出来ると言う格好の見本になっていると思う。

　例えば、今まで見過ごしてきた問いかけである『一つの数式に足し算と掛け算があるとき、掛け算を最初に計算するのはなぜ?』の解説は、ユーモアと理論が融合した秀逸な出来である。

　また、実際に東京理科大学で教鞭をとる教授陣たちが『オリジナリティー』と言う観点から作成しただけあって、機知に富んだ飽きさせない構成になっているから、なおのこと好感が持てる。

　東京理科大学はかたそうな授業しかしていないのではと勘ぐるなかれ。大変魅力ある楽しい授業の連発なのではと想像したくなる。これから理科系大学を受験する学生や、大学生、卒業生や社会人にも最適な本。そうそう、クラブでのちょっとした小噺やエンターテインメントにも良いかもしれない。本書のあまりの奥深さと怜悧さに感動したホステスに抱きつかれること間違いなし!!

大学の先生が解説を書かれていて、その熱意が伝わってきます。
私は文系なのですが、理系の大学ではこんな面白そうなことをやっているんだ！と思い、
大学の授業の一コマをちょっとだけ覗いているような気分になりました。

これから新たに大学生になろうという方にはもちろん、
既に学生生活を終えた方にも、お薦めできると思います。

自分は文系だから・・・と敬遠してしまう前に、
是非一度手にとってもらいたいと思う一冊です。

東京理科大ということで一瞬頭の固そうな本だと思ったが中身はかなり面白く文系の私でもすんなりと読むことができて夢中になれた。
