TRADOSの購入に先立って、TRADOS社の講習会に行った際に「初のTRADOS攻略本」とこの本を紹介されました。意外なことに、TRADOS社からの出版ではないのですが,とてもよく書かれているということで、即購入しました.
デモ版のCD-ROM（競合他社のソフトも含む）がついているので、TRADOS購入前に、是非お勧めしたいです。

また、購入時に悩む「ドングル」のタイプについてまでも、言及されていて,まさにかゆいところに手が届く・・という感じです.

プログラムのインストールや「ファイルを開く」といった超ベーシックな操作にもれなく写真を付け、無用なページをどんどんと増やしつつ、肝心の仕事を開始するところでバッサリと終わります。「こ、これだけかよ....」と呆然とする救われぬ読者。解決しなかった無数の疑問の答えを求めネットにさ迷い出る、４千円＋海外送付料を費やした読者。Trados のガイドブックは英日合わせてもこれしかないので買うしかないし、これなしには学習のスタートも切れなかったのである程度は役に立ってくれたのですが、この値段で売りたいなら情報量を倍にして改訂すべきです。このままでは Trados 本体と同等に暴利といわざるを得ません。内容から著者は誠実そうなお方なので、版元の責任か。

使いこなせるかどうか不安な状態のままTRADOS購入と共に本書を購入しました。
原文、訳文、メモリなど、TRADOS関連ファイルをどう整理すればよいの？と不安だったのですが、これは本書によって解決できたことが有り難かったです。
結果的に、講習を受けるよりは時間がかかったかもしれませんが、本書のおかげで、なんとかTRADOSを翻訳作業に利用できるようになりました。初めてTRADOSに接する人や、講習には通わず独学でマスターしたい人には持っていて損はないと思います。
本書とともにTRADOS梱包のPDF版のマニュアルとか、チュートリアルを参考にするともっと理解が深まると思います。
