ある特定の人と関わる時、なぜか罪悪感を覚えたり躊躇したり、あるいは相手の言動によって自分がコントロールされているように感じたことはありませんか？私は、その原因をいつも相手の中に見つけようとしていました。しかし、この著書に出会って、私の中に取り入れるべきものと取り入れてはいけないものがあって、私の問題は良いものも悪いものもただ受け取ってしまっていたことにあるのだと気づかされました。これは、個人主義のアメリカでもある人々に見られる傾向だというのは意外でした。（ステレオタイプでした）
この著書の通りを行動に移す時に何らかの軋轢が生じるけれど、それも健全な人間関係を築き上げるためのプロセスでもあることを知り励まされました。
真実の愛というのは、時には相手が悲しむことをも肯定していかなければならない厳しい側面を持っているのだということも知らされました。その場限りのhowto本ではない、これからも少しずつですがここから学び取っていきたいと思わせる人生の良きナビゲーターとなってくれています。

職場でもバウンダリーを引くことで、自分の責任を明確にでき、残業しないで帰っても罪悪感を覚える必要はないんだ、と思えるようになった。家族が悩んでいても、私がそれでつぶれたらだめなんだ、と思えるようになった。共依存の人におすすめです。

境界線、バウンダリ−ズ、聞きなれない概念ですね。
人間関係をたてあげていくのには、「わたしはわたし、あなたはあなた」と区別して、自立したうえで、かかわっていくのが、正しい方法。バウンダリ−ズは自分が自分であること、他人が他人であることを明確にして、よりいっそう自由で、開放された、いきいきとする人間関係を作るのに、役立ちます。いわば、バウンダリ−がしっかりと作られて、バウンダリ−を作るためのサポ−トグル−プができて、そこで、練習すしていくことで、人間関係における自由を手にすることができるのです。日本人はこのバウンダリ−をはっきりしないまま、今までがむしゃらに生きてきて、今そのひずみがでてきているように感じます。ぜひ、人間関係を見直すためにも、ご一読を！
