   本書の主要部分は、ビジネスの問題をどう考え、解決に向けてどんな方法をとり、そして解決策をどう売り込むかという、実際に彼らがコンサルティングを進める手順に沿って展開されている。いわゆる「マッキンゼー式」の真髄は、その最初の段階の「事実に基づき」「厳密に構造化され」「仮説主導である」という3つの柱で示されている。なかでも、問題を構造的に把握して3つの項目に集約させるテクニックや、まず仮説を立て、証明や反証を重ねながら正答に導くプロセスは、ビジネス思考の究極のモデルになるものだろう。

   一方で、チームの編成、リサーチ、ブレーンストーミングの各方法や、「売り込みをしないで売り込む方法」など、すぐに応用できる実践的なテクニックも数多く紹介されている。多忙を極めるCEOに30秒でプレゼンする「エレベーター・テスト」や、毎日1つチャートを作るといったユニークなトレーニングもある。また、彼らのストレス対処法やキャリアアップの方法などもスケッチされていて、彼らの「生身」の側面をうかがい知ることができよう。

   マッキンゼーの人々の仕事に対する思考やテクニックが、見事に描き出された1冊である。一読すれば、ビジネスにおける強靭な精神と、すぐれた知性の源泉に触れた気になるはずだ。（棚上 勉）

　コンサルティング会社は特殊な仕事と考えがちだが、本書の内容は、一般企業に勤めるビジネスマンにも十分参考になるはずだ。

この本を買って読むなら、「考える技術・書く技術」とか「問題解決プロフェッショナル「思考と技術」」を読んだ方がいいような気がします。もっと具体的だと思います。

通勤電車で気楽には読めましたが、個人的には血にも肉にもならなかった感じです。逆に満足できた方は、上記の本お勧めしたいです。

マッキンゼーというブランド名がまず人をひきつけるのだろう。内容は、至極もっともなポイントが簡潔に書かれているが、実際にはあまり内容があるとは思えないものであった。これなら新書版でも良いのではないだろうか？

大きな嘘はありませんが、わずか3年ほどの経験であり、表面をかすめただけの内容です。この程度の工夫で、マッキンゼ-が世界の一流企業を顧客にできるはずがない。この邦題は「誇大広告」です。あたかもマッキンゼ-社が自社の宣伝のために出したような誤解すら与えかねず、出版社の姿勢としてもどうか？
