　あとがきにあるように、これはもうホントに大変な本だと思う。
　今までのＰＯＧ本がダメだった、とは言わない。毎年毎年同じような内容だな、と思いつつもとりあえずいつものＰＯＧ本を手にしていた方は多かったはず。そして、毎年毎年、何だか冴えない結果にボヤくのがオチなのだ。
　この本の内容の盛りだくさんなことに、まず驚く。２段組で400Ｐもあると、活字に不慣れな人は引いてしまいそうだが、とりあえず、気になったジャンルからちょっとずつ読み進めていくとよいかと思う。厩舎や馬主、牧場に競馬新聞並みの印が入っているのは笑えるが、よくよく考えると、実はそれがＰＯＧだけでなく、若駒の馬券戦略や、クラブ馬の検討に役立つようになっているのだ。
　ドラフトまでまだ日にちはある。大げさでなく、疑問や迷いを感じたら、この本を開きたい。

POG本というと写真とか調教師、育成場の話などが中心になりますが、この本はPOG期間の成績から導ける厩舎や馬主、種牡馬などの選び方を解説しています。ということで2歳馬の写真やコメントは一切無し。文字が多くて読むのは面倒な人は「Lesson 1 黄金ラインを探せ」だけを読むだけでも役に立つはずです。

厩舎や血統の選び方はPOGだけでなく、一口馬主をやってる人にも役立つと思います。

これを読む皆さんも凄いと思います。私自身も全部読みきるまでどのくらいかかるやら・・・。今年はサンデーサイレンス産駒最終世代が出て来る中で、そうなるとむしろ穴的な馬を探すよりもきっちりと基礎から叩き直して、しかも生きた情報をより多く仕入れ、それをフル活用した方がより理想的な選び方が出来るのではないかと思います。そういった中で、この本は非常に理想的なものであると思います。サンスポ紙面やグリーンチャンネル某番組では頼りないところが有ったり笑わせてくれる方ですが、これほどの本をお書きになると敬意を表さざるを得ないでしょう。非常に秀逸な本であると思います。
