C++とWindowsプログラミングにある程度知識を持っている人が対象である｡この本はマルチスレッドプログラミングの基本から必殺技(?)まで解説している、非常に内容は充実である｡しかし、日本語訳はわかりづらい点がけっこうあるのが難点｡また、独自のクラスライブラリーを用いるので、MFCですべてをやりたい人には不満が残るでしょう｡

スレッドを全く知らない状態でも十分読みこなせるスレッドプログラミングの初級・中級解説書。使う道具立てはWin32とC++。具体的なプログラム例が豊富で、スレッドそのものの理解とWin32上のスレッドAPIの理解が一緒にできます。図表も豊富で説明も分かりやすい。中盤から著者オリジナルのクラスライブラリの説明になります。このクラスライブラリをその後も（自分の仕事のために）利用するかどうかは意見の分かれるところだと思いますが、このクラスライブラリの中身を順に追っていくとスレッドライブラリの典型的構成と実装がとてもよく理解できます。

マルチスレッドプログラミングの具体的なサンプルが載っていて、また、解説も大変わかりやすく、実践でとても役に立ちました。この本で、マルチスレッドプログラミングの、基本を学ぶことができました。
