本書は「攻殻機動隊S.A.C.」シリーズ、「精霊の守り人」と
質のたかいテレビアニメを監督してきた神山健治が
スタジオボイスの連載に、補講・対談をくわえ
「映画の正体」「映画を成り立たせているメカニズム」
を考察した本です。

企画に重要なこととは
脚本に｢構造｣をもたせるには
音楽、編集によっていかに映画をよくするか
アニメと実写のちがいとは
など、さまざまな切り口・視点が、古今東西の映画
神山監督の体験をとおしてしめされています。

本書の内容が映像関係者からみて、どれほど有効かはわかりませんが
神山監督の作品を観たことがある人、アニメ制作に興味がある人には
すくなくとも一読する価値はあると思います。

まあ自分が読み終わった感想は、本書の対談で押井守も言っていますが
「早く映画撮っちゃいなよ」
なわけですが。神山監督の長編映画を観てみたいですね。
