毎号面白く読んでいるが、今回もなかなか楽しませてもらった。
　最初の、特集「現代に息づく千三百年の心と技」は取材対象に対する筆者の思いが伝わってくるいい内容だったと思う。伊勢神宮でこのような伝統が大和・奈良時代から綿々と現代まで続いていることは初めて知った。２０年毎に行われそれが62回続いているという歴史をまさに縦に横断するがごとくの時間的スケールは圧倒的でさえある。この伝統を支えている技とそれをおこなう人間の心は、受け継がれることの大切さを教えてくれる。
　武道家である宇城氏とバイオリニスト川畠成道氏の対談「音楽と武の競演」は読み応えがあった。特に後半から最後のところは、宇城氏と川畠氏がまるで武道をしているかのようなやり取りで圧巻だった。バイオリンと空手という異空間が、止揚されて同じ空間になっているような印象を受けた。古来より言われている「一芸は万芸に通ず」という言葉のとおりの世界があった。
　また、ビジョントレーナー田村氏と宇城氏による「眼」についての対談も面白かった。見えるとは何か、を考えさせてくれた。外の眼、内の眼についての田村氏の考え方や、宇城氏による例えとしての物差しの目盛りの細かさが持つ意味と、それが時空間における「間」につながっていくところの話は、実に示唆的で興味深い。実際の日常の場面でいろいろな応用ができるのではと感じる。このような「眼」の認識を持っているだけでも心構えが違ってくる気がする。
　この「道」という雑誌は、今の日本人にとって大切なもの、受け継がれるべきものは何か、などを読む人に気づかせるためのヒントを与えてくれる。次号以降も期待したい。
