波。波。波の写真集。

波なんて本物の動く波を見てナンボ。
音とセットでこそ波。

と思っていたら。

圧倒された。
大きなサイズのこの本を見ていると、
まるで自分が波しぶきの中にいるような錯覚を覚える。
波に翻弄される。
波しぶきが飛んでくる。
轟が聞こえてくる。海鳴りが。

・・・酔ってしまった。
酔わされた。

著者は佐渡島に住む真言宗の僧侶とのこと。
会ってみたい、と思ってしまった。

波というのは
ボーっと眺めるものだと思っていた。
サーフィンのようなマリンスポーツを
するわけでもないので、
じっくり「波を読む」ようなことも
するわけがない。

ところが、だ。
この写真集に切り取られた「波」は、
ただの波ではなかった。

いや、普通の波に違いないはずなのに、多くを語りかけてくる。
そして受け手は、そのすべてに耳を凝らしたくなるのだ。

この写真を撮った梶井氏は、佐渡在住の僧侶でもあるという。
きっと私が感じること以上のものを、
佐渡の海の波から感じているに違いない。

　書店で見てどうしても買いたくなりました。
重くて冷たい水が幾層にもなって押し寄せ、視界全体に広がる感じ。
視覚だけでなく、心にも訴えかけるというか……
波に心が呼応して、何か呼び覚まされるものがある気がします。

日本海のそばに住んでいます。
こんな瞬間があったのか、とうっとりしてしまう作品も。
ラストにたどり着くまでには必ず、見る人自身の音楽が流れてきているはず。
