地下は普段目に触れない存在であり、非常に興味深い場所である。
私自身、ある病院から一直線に伸びてゆく海軍のトンネルを通ったことが有るが、最後までたどり着く前に恐ろしくなってしまいやめた体験がある。

以上の体験も手伝い、この本に興味を持って買ったが、
著者の目の付け所は良かったかもしれないが、

全体を通じ、独りよがりで悪夢のような文字の羅列のような本である。
著者の言うところの「インテリジェンス・レポート」のように理解しがたい、暗号文のような内容である、。

この本の「解読書」を書かなければ、著者は自分の使命を果たし得ないだろう。

着想点は面白いが文章と構成が稚拙で想像の世界に酔うことは
出来ませんでした。また、詰めが甘く「だから何なのか？」と
いう疑問が最後まで理解できなかった。
もっと文章を煮詰め、推敲を重ね出版して欲しかった。

私はむかし東京駅で働いていたことがあり、一般客の目に触れない駅の地下を通ることができたため、興味を持って東京駅の地下を探検したことがある。ある扉を開けると、突然全く時代の異なる古い通路が口を開いていたりすることもしばしばで、駅の地下に対する興味を強く持ったのである。そんな私には、本書の内容は非常に興味深かった。

著者の推論が全て当たっているのかどうかは、著者が紹介している調査材料だけからでは、読み手にとっては材料不足の面もあり判断しにくいが、少なくとも地下鉄の歴史に対する認識を新たにする画期的な内容だと思う。
こういった著作の影響で、公に認知されていない歴史が、少しづつ明らかにされてもらいたいものである。

ただ惜しむらくは他の方も指摘されているように、文章が拙いため一読しても頭に内容が入りにくい。
よって、文章を全面的に書き直し、もっと分かりやすい図表を挿入した改訂版を期待したい。
でないと、せっかくの調査・考察がもったいないし、これだけ文章について指摘されるようでは、ジャーナリストとして恥ずかしいのではないか。
