映画秘宝路線の創成期の作品です。本書から映画秘宝は始まりました。当時このようなＣ級映画を熱意と悪意を持って取り上げるメディアは殆どなく、やっとこういう本が出来たかと感慨もひとしおでした。内容は今読んでもかなり濃いです。日本におけるジミーウォング再評価もこの本が火を付けたと言っても過言ではない。
