疾患に関する一般的な知識のためにはよかったのですが、具体的な薬として何を使用したらよいか、という場合には、日本で使っていない薬の名前が書かれていたりして、やりにくいと思いました。アメリカの本の方が本質的にはいいのかもしれませんが、やはりすぐに役立つものが欲しい場合は、日本で臨床をやっている医師が直接書いたものの方がいいと思います。

小児科をローテートする研修医・小児科レジデントが白衣のポケットにしのばせておくには格好の良書が出現した、といえるのではないでしょうか。誰もがその能力を認める臨床医により翻訳・監訳されており、またそれぞれの章に付け加えられている監訳者の注釈も非常に的確な内容であるので、それを読む意味でも日本語版をあえて手にする意味は十二分にあります。

沖縄県立中部病院からはすでに小児科レジデントマニュアルが出版されていますので、院内のスタンダードについてはどう考えているのかを聞きたくなったりもしますが、そういう些細なことを抜きにして、「買いの一冊」と言っていいと思います。

沖縄県立病院の医師たちによる翻訳・注釈
なんといっても、注釈がすばらしい。
もともとの原著も非常に実践的な内容が書かれており、
実際に臨床の最前線で起きる問題点についての
対応の仕方をわかりやすく、簡潔にレビューできる。
人工呼吸器についてなど・・具体的かつ実践的な内容盛りだくさん。
いきいきとした訳で、読んでいてあきませんでした。
