この本は内容はすごいですが図や絵もあって、そして分かりやすい書き方でダム・電気料金制度の問題よく把握できる。そして批判ばっかりじゃなくて、問題解決への提案もあって、筋を取っていて納得行くだろうと思います。

揚水ダムだけじゃなくて、いろいろなダムの仕組みについて説明があります。今までダムがどんな問題を起こしているかよく分かって来ます。日本だけじゃなくて海外でも「ポーク・バレル」や「キャッシュレジスター・ダム」と言い、一部の人だけにおいしくて、自然や公共料金にまずい。そして日本電力会社・土木会社など作りたがる揚水ダムは原発がないと意味がない仕組みがよく見えてきます。

今は建設中ですが宮崎県木城町の揚水ダムと宮崎県綾町の巨大鉄塔超高圧電線が大きい問題になっています。このタイムリーな話題を理解して判断するのに大事な本です。

田中優さんやグループKiki（「どうして郵貯がいけないの―金融と地球環境」）の本、皆そうですけど、裏つける情報が多くて安心。載っている情報がどこから取ったかエンドノートを見たら、どこの本・新聞・HPなどから取ったかすぐ分かる。
