この本は著者が５０組の夫婦を長期にわたって調査し考察したケーススタディであり、現在巷に溢れている、著者個人の経験や思想で書かれた本ではないので他に類書が見当たりません。（あったらぜひ教えてください。）その意味で貴重な本だと思いますし、また自分の結婚観・人生観を考える上でも参考になる良書だと思います。ぜひ、このような本を日本人の夫婦を対象に著す研究者が早く現れて欲しいと思います。
