当時ルーカスが「これでSWはお終い」と宣言したこともあり、旧三部作の終結以降「特別編」公開までSWは世界から忘れ去られていました。それは当然ながらトイの分野にも影響し、世に言う（？）「暗黒の１０年間」を迎えたのです。私もちょうど高校〜大学と青春真ただ中（赤面！）で、SW熱は既に冷めていました。
しかし１９９６年に「THX版」ビデオが発売され、「特別編」、更には「新三部作」の噂が真しやかにささやかれ始め、アメコミ系のフィギュア・ムーブメントとも呼応するようにSWアクションフィギュアも復活を遂げます。そんな最中、何気なくC-3POとR2-D2を購入したのをきっかけとして、私も「コレクターの魔の道（ダークサイド）」へと転落の一途を辿る事に・・・。

こうして見てみると、「POWER OF THE FORCE」シリーズを始め、単なる再販ではなくよりディテールにこだわった名作が多く、決して内容として「暗黒の時代」が無駄ではなかった事がわかります。また「Shadows of The Empire」などのスピンオフ（コミックや小説）からのフィギュアにはこれまであまり興味がなかったのですが、なかなか奥が深いと購買意欲をそそられました（イカン、イカンです！！）

また（Vol.1も同様ですが）発売時期によるディテールや彩色、アクセサリー類の差異はもとより、「台紙」バリエーションをこうして体系づけて整理・解説したものは他では得難いです（マニアの間では常識なのでしょうけど）。
現在も（比較的リーズナブルに）入手可能なアイテムもこの辺りが限界とも思いますので、私のような「ほどほどなコレクター」の参考書としては手頃かもしれません。
何よりも眺めているだけで幸せな気分になれます。とにかく情報量満載、全頁カラーでこの価格！には大満足です。当然、vol. 6まで全巻揃えたいですね。
