文学・神話・伝承など、多面的な方向から妖精が説明されています。有名なローレライやセイレン、ニンフなどが乗っていて初心者の方にも入り込みやすいと思います。文章が詩的で、絵が色彩豊かで、とてもきれいです。眺めるだけでも楽しいと思います。

このシリーズも４作目になり、大分マイナーな物も取り上げているが、それでも親切な解説、纏わる物語など、初心者に優しい作りが好印象。
物が物だけに、少々根が張るが、こういった物は、図書館に置いてあっても充分だと思う。

何より、お子さんに読んであげられる程の綺麗さが有る。
