人見 謙剛
1958年7月15日生まれ。高校の英語教師を経て、ビリヤード場の経営者に転身。初心者時代からの練習メモの蓄積や多くのプロとの交流経験から、『ザ・ビリヤードA to Zベーシック編』の元となるビリヤード解説をオンライン上で行なったところ、延べ30万人以上ものプレイヤーが絶賛し、アマチュアプレイヤーのカリスマ的存在となる。現在、日本のスポーツ文化におけるビリヤードの興隆を自らの使命と定め、ビリヤード関連の執筆、翻訳、ビデオ製作・監修などに取り組む。また、ポケット・ビリヤード強国であるフィリピンにも精通しており、現地にもビリヤード場を開業。フィリピン・プロたちの技術やメッセージの伝達の役目も担っている。著書等に『ロバート・バーンのビリヤード・アドバンス・ブック』(翻訳)、『簡単キューメンテナンス』(ビデオ監修)以上、BABジャパン刊(本データはこの書籍が刊行された当時に掲載されていたものです)

　ビリヤードに興味を持ち始めた人なら「もっとうまくなりたい」と思うのは当然のこと。ところが、すぐ近くに親切なお店があるという一部の幸運な人を除いては、「何をやればうまくなるのか」はなかなか分かりづらいものです。

　私もビリヤードを始めたばかりの頃、一人黙々と「一見難しそうな玉を入れる」練習ばかりをしていましたが、この本を読んで、自分がいかに思いつきの練習を行き当たりばったりに行なっていたかを思い知らされました。
　この「A to Z」では、上手くなるために何を理解し、どんな技術を身につければよいのか、また、そのためにどんな練習をすれば良いのかが詳しく説明されています。
　「ベーシック編」では主に用具やルール、ねらい、ショットの基本について書かれています。基本とはいえ、「知らなかった」ということも結構見つかるはずです。

　これに勝るビリヤードの自学自習本は、他にないでしょう。是非「ベーシック編」「プラクティス編」「アプリケーション編」と三冊揃えて読んでみてください。

5.0 out of 5 stars ルールだけでなく、マナーを守ることが本当のベーシック, 2006/3/14
ベーシック編なので、本当にキューも触ったことがない人にでも始めれるくらい丁寧に書かれています。キューの握り方や立ち方。そして、今まで聞いた事もないルールにいたるまで。本書以上に基本に徹底した本はないと思います。なんせ、３冊セットといえる１冊目ですから。

一番印象的だったのは、マナーに関することです。普通ここまでマナーに関することが丁寧に書かれている本は少ないと思います。実際に、ビリヤード場に行って、いくら上手いプレーヤーがいたとしても、くわえタバコや冷やかしそるようなプレーヤーを見たら「なーんだ」と気分が悪くなります。

ビリヤードがいくら上手くても、そうした部分が守れていないという点で、「この人とはビリヤードをしたくない」となるのです。
そういう意味で、ベーシックなレベルのうちにこうしたマナーを身につけていくのが、本当にビリヤードを続けていく上での基本だということが身にしみて分かる一冊です。
