くるみ割り人形、白鳥の湖、ジゼル・・・　５大バレエの物語がとってもわかりやすく書かれた絵本です。　物語というよりも、バレエの舞台の解説を中心に構成されています。小学生から中学生まで充分楽しめる内容で、舞台での演出の説明や、衣装の特徴、バレエのちょっとしたポーズの紹介もあり、バレエの舞台を見る前に、もしくは発表会に供えて親子で読んではいかがでしょうか？

バレエ解説絵本としては、著名ダンサーのカットや美しい挿し絵が満載で、バレエをよく知っておられる方も楽しめるすばらしいお品だと思います。

ただ、付録CDにはちょっと納得出来ません。
バレエの「見せ場」を集めたCDはなかなかありませんので、その点は価値あるものなのですが、それぞれのバレエが持っている本来の旋律の情感に欠けます・・・白鳥のオデットのソロなどは、聴いて仰け反ってしまいました。(‘気高く’でなく、なんというか、非常に我が強く、鍛え上げられた筋肉隆々のオデット??)

CDには満足いかないままにしても、手にしてよかったと思える大切な一品です。

挿絵の色合いがとても綺麗です。写真や文もちょうど良いバランスで、漢字交じり文を読めないお子様から大人まで楽しめます。バレエを習っている方や、バレエ好きな方へのプレゼントとしてもオススメです。
バレエを習っている娘の本棚にぜひ置いてあげたい一冊です。
